Exciter Choice: Email or Snail Mail?

How would you like your Exciter?
Printed on paper, with a nice color cover, and delivered to your mailbox by a uniformed employee of the Post Office, a week or maybe two after it's printed.
In bits and bytes, as a PDF file, visable in full color on your computer screen, and printable on your own printer.  The PDF Exciter is e-mailed to you the same day the printed version heads to the printer - you get it a week or two before the printed version is delivered.
The PDF Exciter does save the club money.  The printed Exciter costs almost your whole dues, while the PDF version is nearly free.
To view the PDF version, you'll need a copy of the free Adobe Acrobat Reader to display the PDF files.  Click on this icon to go to Adobe's download page and specify the free Acrobat Reader.
Exciter Comparison Chart: Print vs. PDF

Requirements: Reading glasses as needed. Computer, e-mail address, free Acrobat  Reader program
Printable? Already printed. Print it yourself to take to the... library.  We recommend printing in draft mode to save money.
Club Benefit Most of dues go to printing and mailing Club will save printing and mailing costs.

If you would like the PDF Exciter, send E-MAIL to the Treasurer and let him know.  Only e-mail will do this job... no letters, phone calls or on-the-air requests!  Why...?  So he can get a GOOD e-mail address from you.  Later on, you'll have the opportunity to change e-mail addresses and forget to notify us, but we want to get started on the right foot (even if that's the left foot).

Include:

  • your name,
  • your callsign,
  • e-mail address where you want the Exciter mailed.
Q and A:

"Can I get both the printed and pdf Exciters?"
Well, you greedy little...  I mean,...  yes, you can.  (Sharp-eyed readers will notice that this is a change!  Beginning June 2001, you can get both print and pdf.)

"Will my dues be reduced because I'm saving the club so much money?"
No.  Maybe someday, but not now.  Let us see how many people are interested in this, and how it affects our printing bill.  Meanwhile, any savings will go to the editor's radio equipment and hair replacement fund.
