Subject: [rars-l] RARS Meetings: new location, new day

Hello everyone! I am pleased to announce that effective January, 2014, RARS will be meeting at a new location and on a "different Tuesday".

New location: Our new meeting location will be Ridge Road Baptist Church, 2011 Ridge Road, Raleigh, NC 27607. The Church is located just north of the intersection of Ridge Road and Lake Boone Trail. We will be meeting in the Fellowship Hall from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. RARS is very fortunate to be meeting in a very well-appointed facility with a great staff!

Second (2nd) Tuesday of each month: The RARS General Membership meeting will occur on the second (2nd) Tuesday of each month. It was not possible to make arrangements to meet on the "traditional" first Tuesday of the month at this facility. Again, the RARS General Membership Meeting will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.

What about the other Tuesday meetings?: Yes, there will be some changes. The RARS Dinner will be held on the first (1st) Tuesday of each month at the same location, ie, the Golden Corral, 6129 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27612 (about 1.5 miles west of Crabtree Valley Mall) beginning at 6:30 PM. The RARS Board meeting will continue to meet on the third (3rd) Tuesday of each month at the Triangle Radio Reading Service, 211 East Six Forks Road, Suite 103, Raleigh, NC 27609. THe RARS Board Meeting is held from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.

To clarify the time schedule: RARS will gain access to the meeting space at 7:00 PM. We will have an informal gathering and snacks from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM (as usual). Then, a short business meeting followed by the presentation will occur between 7:30 and 9:00 PM (as usual). By 9:00 PM, we need to vacate the meeting space so that building cleaning and closing can proceed.

I would like to thank CJ NC4CJ, Tom N4TL, Bob K4YXM, Greg KE4PAX, Chuck K4HF and Cliff W4FT (he suggested the new location!) for their efforts on behalf of RARS to find a new meeting location.

Happy holidays and 73,
Karl W4CHX, RARS President (2010-2013)
