Finally... The Exam
We can't put it off any longer. For six weeks, we've studied, lectured,
played with radios... dreamed... and dreaded this moment.
It's time to take the test.  Time to become hams.

Volunteer Examiners Neal N4HAF (blue shirt) and Charlie W4VFJ (white shirt) explain the logistics of the forms and the test...and the students get busy filling out applications.

And then get down to business.  Notice the
c o n c e n t r a t i o n.
Once a test is completed, the VEs grade it on the spot.  Here, Lynn KO4QH, Alan AB4OZ and Jeff AC4ZO double-check answer sheets.  The exam is "pass/fail."  If you get 70% of the answers right, you're issued a "CSCE" - a certificate that says you successfully completed an exam.

Pass the Tech written test, and you're a ham!  As soon as the FCC database shows your callsign, you can get on the air.

And here are some of the graduates.  CONGRATULATIONS!!

There you have it... a tour through a typical (typically great) ham radio class with RARS.  Where would you like to go now?
