| Matt W2BYV volunteered
to set up the Novice/Tech station for Field Day. Problem was... he'd
passed his General written last year, and he passed his 5 wpm code just
before April 15.
Here's dedication: Matt
didn't file his CSCE for the upgrade until after Field Day, so he was technically
a Tech. Then he discovered that his General written CSCE EXPIRED
IN MAY!!! He was REALLY a Tech! No problem - he passed
the General again at the Cary hamfest. Thanks, Matt! |

Not content with just
320 contacts, Matt also scored 100 bonus point by operating a "non-traditional
mode" - APRS,using his Kenwood Digi-Talkie. The Novice/Tech
is also a bonus station that adds points, but doesn't add to our 8A station
total. |
