As we said, the main reason for being downtown
was to show off. And we got lots of visitors, including these two
young ladies who are checking out the map KD4ISC hung up showing states
we worked. |

And WA9SZL took time out to talk to this fellow who stopped by on his
bike.
About the only disappointment was that we didn't get any elected officials
to come visit, although Lt. Governor Bev Perdue's media director did come
by Sunday morning. We're counting that in the "spirit" of the bonus
points for official visits.
That's something we'll have to work harder on next year. |
| We got some media coverage, too. Here KN4AQ is being interviewed
for NBC-17 (Gary's feeling right at home as an NBC alumni from Chicago).
We also got on WTVD-11. That camera crew had been covering another
downtown story and stopped by to see what was going on. Our big beam
attracted a lot of attention. |

We didn't get the Governor to visit, but we did get the President.
OK, the RARS President, KF4RTX. Maybe Tim is thinking about running for
Governor next. Then we can put the beam on top of the
Capitol...
