RALEIGH, NC, April 1, 2025 – The seven largest amateur radio clubs in the Greater Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill (North Carolina) Triangle announced today their intention to merge, subject to Federal Trade Commission (FTC) approval, which a spokesperson for the group said they are expecting to receive shortly. The new club will be known as the RJSCFOD ARSCA.

“Rumors that this is really a hostile takeover by the Raleigh Amateur Radio Society are completely untrue,” according to Philo T. Farnsworth W3XPF, a RARS member who wishes to remain anonymous for fear of retribution. “Have you met that Fin guy?” Farnsworth elaborated. “He's terrifying!”

The surviving club presidents (pictured below) announced the merger today at a press conference on the steps of the North Carolina Statehouse. “The mood was pretty upbeat, considering the circumstances,” one bystander noted before fleeing the scene.
