A good operation begins with a solid foundation. Left to right, KN4AQ
appears to be supervising, WA4AVU, KC4WUH, N4TAB and KG4HDT are all down
where the work is happening. In the background is AC4ZO. KA3QPU
took this photo.

If we're going to be "public" then people
have to know who we are. K4HM and N4TAB hang the RARS Banner.
AC4ZO's tent is in the background. |

We put up a total of three antennas - this tri-band beam, and two dipoles.
The beam was set on a 20 foot extention ladder. The dipoles were
hung from trees using a bow and arrow, with AC4ZO playing William Tell.
KG4MVZ and his son were in awe of Jeff's archery skill. |
The ARRL Field Day Bulletin came from W1AW at 10 am, before we had
stations set up. AC4ZO copied the cw transmission from KN4AQ's mobile.
WA4AVU copied along, listening through the car window, and writing on a
Palm Pilot!

And here's a look at the finished site. This shot was snapped
from the second floor of the Capitol, which was open for tours on Saturday
and Sunday. Nobody tripped over any guy ropes all weekend |
